Injury updates: Reuben Bala nears return

Ahead of the Nigeria Professional Football League week five fixture against Kano Pillars, Fatai Osho has provided the latest injury update on players within the squad.

Austin Oladapo
“Austin appeared to aggravate the ankle injury in the game against Heartland, so we have decided to give him some rest so that he can fully recover”

Abiodun Adebayo
“He had a cut on his head against Heartland and had to finish the match with bandages wrapped around his head. He also needs some time off.”

Farouk Mohammed
“His is a hamstring, so we’re waiting for him. Since it’s a muscle issue, he’ll be the one to tell us when he no longer feels any pain, then we can bring him in.”

Timothy Danladi
“From the look of things, Timothy should be back very soon, maybe in a week or so. He is a boy who is always eager to play and we want to have him back.”

Reuben Bala
“Reuben had surgery towards the end of last season and was still recovering, that’s why he hasn’t been dressed for any game this season. In the last week he began group training, but he won’t be rushed back. He has been out for a long time so needs enough time to build more fitness.”

Johnson Umah
“Johnson had a groin injury in preseason. He is a young and promising player so we have to take good care of him. He has started jogging but can’t return until the pain is totally gone.”
