Expression, spirit and confidence – Mbaoma picks the factors for a strong start
Victor Mbaoma has enjoyed a blistering start to the new season, scoring two goals in the opening three fixtures.
The forward was on target in Enyimba’s first two home fixtures this term, finding the net in the fixtures against Diambars FC and Al Ittihad SC.
Mbaoma also provided the assist for Tosin Omoyele’s opener against Diambars, meaning that he has been directly involved in three of Enyimba’s opening six goals of the season.
This form is a contrast of his performance in the previous season where he struggled to make a meaningful mark, and speaking to Enyimbafc.net, the forward lists out the factors that have made the difference.
“Football is all about expression, when you have the ability to express yourself and when you are expressing yourself and it’s working out well, you grow in confidence to do more exploits. So I think so far it’s been going well.
“The spirit is extremely high and everybody wants to get involved and I think it is a good way to start. But it’s not just about starting but ending well, so we will keep pushing, continue to give our best and hope for the best.
“The team has grown fresh confidence. The results have really helped to build the confidence and stability of everyone, especially the new players. It has really pushed the team’s spirit to the next level and has given us more confidence to express ourselves.
“I believe with this we can go very far because football is all about confidence. The more a team is confident, the more they stand a bigger chance to get things done.”
