Stone banking on fans support to make impact
After making his Enyimba debut in the 2-0 win against Al Ittihad SC, forward Samuel Stone has revealed how the support from the home fans motivated him in his maiden appearance.
The stiker was introduced as a substitute as Enyimba led 2-0 in the CAF Confederation Cup fixture, and he quickly settled in, troubling the Al Ittihad backline with his bulky frame.
Quite notable about his debut, though, were the cheers from the supporters at the stadium as he prepared to make his entrance, something that the striker says motivated him to give his best.
“I am really hapy. I am blessed. The motivation from them alone keeps me going. It makes me fully prepared. I was prepeared but when they showed me that much love I was so impressed and just wanted to go in there and make them impressed too. That is why I have to put in more effort and score goals in subsequent matches so that they can be happy.”
