The Aba-based side, led by Coach Yemi Olanrewaju, dominated possession in the early stages of the game and created lots of goal-scoring opportunities, but Akwa United’s defense held firm. Despite creating great and spectacular scoring chances, Enyimba FC couldn’t capitalize on them, and the match ended in a stalemate. The match served as a valuable exercise for both teams as they prepare for the upcoming season. Despite the draw, Enyimba FC showed promise with their new signings and team dynamics.

“We are pleased with the performance of the team today,” said Coach Yemi Olanrewaju in a post-match interview. “We created many scoring opportunities, but couldn’t convert them. We will work on our finishing and build on this performance as we continue our pre-season preparations. Additionally, we are focused on integrating our new players into the team, and today’s match was a good test for them. They showed great potential, and we are excited to see their growth and contribution to the team.”

Enyimba FC will look to build on this performance as they continue their pre-season preparations, with their next match scheduled for Monday against Rivers United in Port Harcourt. The team will be seeking to improve their scoring form and make a strong statement ahead of the new season.
