ABIODUN DELIGHTED BY RIVERS UNITED DRAW
Joseph Abiodun has expressed delight following his goal-scoring contribution as Enyimba were forced to a 1-1 draw by Rivers United in a blockbuster NPFL clash on Sunday.
In their first game under new head coach, Emmanuel Deutsch, the People’s Elephant took the lead at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium in Port Harcourt through Abiodun, who headed home another header from Chidera Michael after 28 minutes.
Rivers United, however, equalized in the 42nd minute when an unmarked Aniekeme Okon fired home from close range to restore parity.

“Returning to the field for the first time in this second stanza of the season hasn’t been easy. This is my first match in the second round. I’m very grateful; I thank God.
“I believe this is the start of many good results and more points to come for the team, as well as more goals.
He reiterated that the point did not come on a platter, adding that the team went into the tie battle-ready.
“It wasn’t an easy game, and everybody knows that,” he reiterated.
