ENYIMBA READY FOR SHOOTING STARS SHOWDOWN AS NWAORISA DEMANDS MAXIMUM POINTS
Forward Augustine Nwaorisa has declared Enyimba’s readiness to face Shooting Stars on Sunday, adding that victory is non-negotiable in their final match of the first stanza of the season.
The People’s Elephant return to action in Aba, after a nail-biting 2-3 loss to El Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri a week ago – in a match Nwaorisa scored his first NPFL goal for the two-time African champions.
Determined to finish the first half of the campaign on a strong note, the youngster told Enyimbafc.net that the team have put in the work he believes will yield maximum points when they face the Oluyole Warriors at the Enyimba Stadium.
“We are ready for Sunday’s match against Shooting Stars, and I believe we’re going to grab the maximum three points for the Club. We are ready for this clash,” he emphasized. “We have worked so hard in training and we are optimistic of a win.”
With the defeat at El Kanemi last week, Enyimba dropped to 10th position on the log, a far cry from the Club’s traditional high standard.
Reflecting on the situation, Nwaorisa appealed to the teeming fans of the record 9-time league champions to remain unrelenting in their support, promising that the team will soon return to where they truly belong – the top.
“We are appealing to the fans to be patient with us,” he added. “They have been solidly behind us despite our dip in form.
“This is Enyimba Football Club, and we know it’s a big club. And we’ll make sure that we’ll bring back the glory. We are working towards it.
“The players, coaches and management are working so hard to ensure we be at the top, or at least, secure a continental ticket.
“So, we are urging our fans to come and support us. We’ll make sure that we get the three points at stake this Sunday. And by next year (second stanza of the season), we will work hard and pray to be at the top.”
