We will bounce back! – Ufere roars ahead of Pillars clash

Midfielder Chinedu Ufere believes Enyimba are very capable of turning the corner following their recent poor run of results in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The record-NPFL champions have lost their last three matches, having suffered surprise defeats to newly-promoted Kun Khalifat and Warri Wolves, before Sunday’s 1-2 reverse to Plateau United in Jos.

Prior to that unsavoury run, Stanley Eguma’s men have gone seven games unbeaten and were on top of the log for a couple of weeks.

Speaking ahead of a showdown with former champions Kano Pillars in Aba on Sunday, the erstwhile Kwara United and Sporting Lagos player remains optimistic the People’s Elephant will overcome their recent wobble.

“For sure, we will bounce back,” he told Enyimbafc.net. “These are the same boys that were unbeaten in seven games.

He added: “We know what those loses to Kun Khalifat, Warri Wolves and Plateau United have taken away from us. We are hungry, and determined to get back those points.

“The aim is to return to the top – where we truly belong. So, definitely, we will bounce back.”

As a result of those three consecutive loses, Enyimba currently sit 10th on the NPFL table with 13 points from 10 matches.
