We will respect FC Ifeanyi Ubah – Osho
Enyimba are set to face FC Ifeanyi Ubah in a matchday 14 rescheduled fixture at the Enyimba Stadium in Aba on Wednesday, May 5. The Elephants returned to action in the league after 34 days with a 1-0 loss to Rivers United in another rescheduled game in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
The eight-time Nigerian champions who are currently trailing league leaders Kwara United by six points had accrued four outstanding games due to continental assignments as the Nigerian Professional Football League reached the halfway mark.
However, speaking ahead of Wednesday’s game against neighbours FC Ifeanyi Ubah, head coach Fatai Osho says his team will respect their opponents who are currently rooted to the relegation zone.
“At this stage of the league this season there is nothing like home factor, because the fans were never there to support any team. We believe strongly that we have to do a lot of work against FC Ifeanyi Ubah. It would be a great mistake if we underrate them, they have been struggling a lot and they want to improve their position on the table, we have to respect them. The players, we are going to make this known to them, so it’s going to be another big task for them so that they won’t be caught by surprise.”
Wednesday’s match will be Enyimba’s second of their four outstanding games. The two-time African champions are placed seventh in the league with 30 points, and a win will take the Elephants into fourth place.
