Enyimba vs Elkanemi: One more win and many more victories

It is another weekend of action in the Nigeria Premier Football League. Last Sunday, we got our third win on the road. Away wins are not easy to come by but we have three and hope that we will get more before the season ends. Before that, we welcome Elkanemi Warriors this weekend.

In the first leg, we narrowly lost 1-0 in Maiduguri. The Aliyu Zubairu led team will be our guests on Sunday. A win in this encounter helps our push as we make that strong surge for a place on the continent and it is achievable.

Despite our challenges this season, it is interesting how a win, and more victories can propel us to heights which seem unattainable. Step by step, we can rise to the top.

On Sunday, Eguma will have to present a formidable squad as the 2024 President Federation Cup champions are no pushovers.

Our squad have looked different in the last five games. While some see it as the team being competitive, others say the team needs to be stable in order to have a known starting 11. Whatever the case, the new boys and the older players in the team are stepping up to the occasion and whoever is in the best form should get the attention of the manager.

A victory in a league game can be a propeller and the driving force for a good run and the Elephants are poised for that win and many more wins in the match days to come. We have always been good hosts and we will host Elkanemi Warriors well, but this game is one we can win to begin the journey back to the continent, a terrain we can call home.
