Goal machine, Sule, fires up Enyimba ahead of Gombe United clash

Teenage sensation, Nelson Sule, has declared that the Enyimba will approach the President Federation Cup campaign “one game at a time” as they prepare to face Gombe United in the Round of 32 on Monday.

The fixture against Gombe United will take place at the McCarthy Stadium, Makurdi, as Nigeria’s most successful side seek to continue their quest for a record extending Federation Cup triumph against the Savannah Scorpions.

Fresh from another impressive goalscoring display in the previous round, Sule insists there is no pressure within the Enyimba camp despite the expectations that accompany a club of such pedigree. According to the youngster, the team’s attention is firmly fixed on executing its game plan and securing passage into the next round.

“For our game on Monday, we are ready as we take the Federation Cup one game at a time,” Nelson told Enyimba Media.

“We are not under pressure but rather concentrated on working hard to win the Monday Cup tie against Gombe United.”

Monday’s fixture carries extra significance for the promising forward, who hails from Otukpo in Benue State and is expected to enjoy strong local support when Enyimba step onto the pitch in Makurdi.

“I am excited to return to my home state where my football journey started, and I am sure my family and fans will be there rooting for us to win,” he added.

The People’s Elephant head into the contest with a superior record against Gombe United. Across all competitions, the Nigeria giants have faced the Savannah Scorpions 21 times, recording 12 victories, four draws, and suffering six defeats.

With momentum building and confidence high within the squad, Nelson has called on the club’s faithful supporters to remain steadfast in their backing.

“We urge all Enyimba fans to continue to believe and pray for us as we promise not to let them down.”
