Match report: Lobi Stars 1-0 Enyimba

Enyimba paid the price for inexplicable profligacy as Chukwuka Onuwa’s late goal stole a 1-0 win for Lobi Stars at the Aper Aku Stadium.

The People’s Elephant looked to have taken firm grip of the fixture and appeared the likelier of the sides to carry the points with sleek attacking moves that were barely curtailed by their opponents.

Samuel Kalu broke into the box and was only denied by a late block, and minutes combined with Emeka Obioma who also was thwarted in similar fashion.

Ekene Awazie was shoved off in the box after tricking his marker before smashing off the mark following a good run from Emeka Obioma.

Enyimba’s overall balance limited the hosts to half chances – which were few and far between – until twelve minutes to the end when Chukwuka Onuwa’s low drive crawled through a crowded box into Olorunleke Ojo’s bottom left to decide the fixture.
