“We just want to be happy again”
Victor Mbaoma appears to have voiced the feeling of every Enyimba fan with his latest confession on the mood within the camp of the People’s Elephant following a run of uninspiring results.
Mbaoma has picked up a good scoring form lately, finding the net in five of his last nine outings.
The striker’s impressive form has not lifted Enyimba from a muddy patch, though, as the People’s Elephant have emerged victorious in only two matches during that period.
Speaking to enyimbafc.net, Mbaoma said: “The fans are not pleased with everything that is happening, but we’ll keep doing our best to turn things around. We’ll keep working hard to make sure we turn the table around, because we just have to get back to winning ways.
“I just hope and pray that everything will fall back to its right place and we will be happy again.”
Reacting to Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Plateau United at the Enyimba Stadium, the 25-year-old said: “It’s a very disappointing game for us, we are not happy.
“We wished and wanted the best, which is nothing less than victory, because we needed that victory so much. It means everything to us. We are not happy about it (the draw) at all.
“What went wrong? Honestly, I think we lost concentration and we had to pay heavily for it.”
