Enyimba central defender Somiari Alalibo has dedicated his November Infinix Player of the Month award to his teammates.
Alalibo was named the Club’s best player for last month following his solid displays at the back, as the reigning Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions won 4 games and drew once in 8 matches in the period under review.
For his efforts, the former Dakkada FC defender was rewarded with an Infinix Note 30 Pro mobile phone.
“I am dedicating this award to my teammates because they really pushed me to give my best last month,” the 22-year-old said.
“If you look at our position on the log (relegation zone) at the beginning of the month, it was nothing to write home about. So, we were all determined to push ourselves so we can get to where Enyimba are known to be. So, I think that was what pushed me.”
On the award itself, Alalibo said he is honoured to receive it, adding it will ‘boost the confidence’ of the players.
“It’s an honour to be named the Player of the Month for a team like Enyimba because we have some of the best players in the NPFL,” an excited Alalibo said.
“I also want to thank the Chairman (Nwankwo Kanu) for this innovation. It’s going to boost the players’ confidence going forward.”
