Build up and titbits: Remo Stars vs Enyimba
Enyimba head into the week 5 fixture at Remo Stars oozing with confidence from Sunday’s 3-0 trouncing of Kwara United in Aba, but Finidi George’s selection headache is not completely over as some of his key men still contend with fitness issues.
PHILIP OZOR
The midfielder was given a starting place in the fixture against Kwara United, despite having only returned from a lengthy layoff.
He lasted only 37 minutes before being taken off with a strained muscle and, despite being named in the travelling party, will need to prove his fitness to be considered to play a part against Remo.
CHIBUIKE NWAIWU
One of Enyimba’s must consistent performers so far, Nwaiwu was taken off late in the game against Kwara United with a knock. The midfielder is however in the matchday squad for the trip to Ikenne.
IMO OBOT
After picking up a knock at the weekend, left back Imo Obot is ruled out of the game against Remo, opening the door for a starting place for Ini Edem
CHIJIOKE MBAOMA
The forceful forward strained his hamstring against Plateau United and missed the fixture against Kwara United. He is also omitted from the matchday squad to face Remo as he continues his recuperation.
IKENNA COOPER
Cooper has returned to training after overcoming a groin problem, but needs time to build his fitness before he can be ready for his debut.
CHIGOZIE OBASI
The right back has returned to training having only recently recovered from a swollen foot. The trip to Ikenne comes too soon for him, though.
CHISOM OKEREKE
Okereke remains sidelined with a fractured foot and is not expected back in training until March.
MURPHY NDUKWU
Ndukwu has begun light training but may require time to complete his rehabilitation
OJO OLORUNLEKE
The goalkeeper will miss the game against Remo as he serves the second of his three-match suspension for the red card against Plateau United.
