ENYIMBA CAPTAIN OJO GETS EAGLES INVITATION FOR WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS
Enyimba captain Olorunleke Ojo has been called up to the Super Eagles squad to face Lesotho and Zimbabwe in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers this month.
The former Sunshine Stars and Abia Warriors safe hands is the only home-based player in the 23-man list released by Eagles handler Jose Peseiro on Thursday.
Ojo is now a regular feature in the Eagles roster, having made the last three squads of the 3-time African champions.
Nigeria, who missed out of the last World Cup in Qatar, will begin the race to be in USA, Canada and Mexico in 2026 with a home tie against the Crocodiles of Lesotho in Uyo on Thursday, 16 November, before flying to Rwanda to face the Warriors of Zimbabwe three days later.
The 28-year-old former Flying Eagles goalkeeper will contend with Cyprus-based Francis Uzoho and Udinese’s Maduka Okoye for the right to be in goal for the Super Eagles.
