Finidi George looks forward to high levels at Naija Super 8
Finidi George believes football will be at its best as eight clubs converge in Lagos for the Naija Super 8.
Finidi’s Enyimba have been pitched in group A alongside CAF Champions League campaigners Remo Stars, Katsina United and the fast-rising Sporting Lagos.
Enyimba lost 2-1 to Remo Stars in the tournament’s opener on Friday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.x
“I’m excited about the (Naija Super 8) competition because it gives us another opportunity to showcase ourselves, despite the result against Remo.”
“We have a crop of young players with great potentials and every tournament gives us the opportunity to continue to improve.
“We have our eyes on the CAF competitions that will begin soon, so this is a good opportunity to evaluate the team.
“I particularly have been looking forward to this competition because it promises a lot. The level of organisation that we have seen is quite impressive and we know that the tournament will get even better as it progresses.
“I also know football fans will have a lot to enjoy because all the teams have the ability to play some high level football.
“For us, it’s not just about winning. It’s more about assessing and evaluating ourselves while also giving the fans something to enjoy.”
