How our new players fave fared since arriving

It is a new month and just some games before the end of the 2024/2025 NPFL season. It has been a challenging season for us but we continue move ahead and our dreams and aspirations are intact. We want to get a spot on the continent at the end of the season and for this reason, we have reinforced our squad.

Our team have suffered injuries to our key players, the latest being our striker, Ifeanyi Ihemekwele. Thankfully, our reinforcements are quickly getting into their strides and soon, they will bond well with the team.

Isah Mohammed was the first of our new boys who got who got game time and he has been brilliant. He has provided width for us in midfield and capped it with a stunning finish against Akwa United in Uyo, a testament to what he can do when we are playing to our full strength. Since then, he has not looked back and has gained the trust of our manager, Stanley Eguma.

Solomon Onome is another player who has stepped up. Imoh Obot was injured in the game against Rivers United and was replaced by Solomon Onome who made his hole debut as an Elephant and he has played against Shooting Stars. His confidence in the game playing for us has gotten better and he has stepped up to taking freekicks.

Gozie Umeh made his debut too against Rivers United and the defensive midfielder gave a good account of himself. He gives defensive cover to our centre backs and brings a special flavour to our midfield, alongside Quadri Odusokanmi who did a brilliant job against 3SC who came with some experienced midfielders.

Junior Lokosa made his debut in Uyo against Akwa United and started against Shooting Stars on Wednesday and his good hold up play was evident and he marked well, while Mujeed Odufesu made his debut against Akwa United and also played against Rivers United alongside Ihemekwele and Atule.

Let us talk about Afolayan Peters. The centre back made his debut against Katsina United and was a substitute for Somiari Alalibo against Shooting Stars. He made vital blocks and won aerial battles, to the delight of the fans who cheered him during and after the game. He provides us options in defense and will rightly go for the starting shirt.

We made reorganizations in some areas during the transfer window in January and it is good to see the individual results. Hopefully this month of March, we can win more games and continue our push for a place on the continent. So when next you come to our games, look out for our amazing new players.
