Injury update: Darkwah, Bilal and others
The Peoples’s Elephant will take a short trip to Owerri where they face Heartland FC in the NPFL on Saturday.
Expectedly, Finidi George will be without some of his stars for the week 15 clash.
Daniel Darkwah: Having only recently returned from a layoff, Darkwah was withdrawn in the first half of last weekend’s game against MFM with a hamstring problem, and so will sit out of the trip to Owerri.
Imo Obot: Obot is another left back worry for Finidi George as he has yet to recover from the knee injury that forced him off in the win against Katsina United on January 29.
Bilal Yakubu: The right back stretched his hamstring in the draw against MFM and will not be available for another week.
Farouk Mohammed, Jean-Marie Guera, Frank Esobe: The trio have returned to full training but are still far off in terms of match fitness, hence remain unavailable.
Christian Ekong: The date for Ekong’s return remains unclear as the forward has not begun training following a knee injury in preseason.
