Kanu receives AFL delegation for inspection visit
Enyimba Chairman, Nwankwo Kanu has welcomed a delegation from the African Football League (AFL) for the second inspection visit of facilities to host Enyimba’s home matches in the brand new flagship competition.
The delegation arrived Uyo on Thursday, July 27 and proceeded to inspect the God’swill Akpabio International Stadium the next day. The delegation also inspected hotels that have been proposed to accommodate teams during the competition.
Speaking after receiving the delegation, Kanu said, “I am happy that the inspection team is finally here in Uyo and I have no doubts that they will be impressed with the facilities that are on ground to host matches in the African Football League.”
“It also gives me joy that Enyimba has been selected as one of the teams to participate in the inaugural edition of this very special competition. It is historic. On our side, we will continue to do everything to ensure that we are ready for the competition.”
Another delegation from the AFL is expected in Uyo in mid-August to carry out pitch maintenance works at the God’swill Akpabio International Stadium ahead of the competition which has been proposed to kickoff in mid-October.
