‘Lifetime Enyimba family member’, Oladapo bids emotional farewell

Austin Oladapo penned a farewell message to Enyimba following his departure from the club.

Oladapo’s five years stay with Enyimba came to an end with the conclusion of the 2021/22 season, and the midfielder has moved on to join Congolese giants, TP Mazembe.

The midfielder, who captained Enyimba in his last two seasons at the club, wrote:

“My Dear Enyimba Family,

“It would have been difficult for me to say goodbye, but I have realised that there is no need to say so, because I still remain a member of this family.

“Right under your care, I developed from an ambitious little boy into a full grown man. Words will not be enough to express the depth of my gratitude for the numerous opportunities you gave me.

“Whenever I wore the Enyimba jersey, I did so with an unusual sense of pride, and to have been handed the iconic captain’s armband is an honour that I can never describe.

“Five years of wearing the famous blue came with lasting memories – memories of celebrations of victories and pains of defeat. Together we fought many battles and weathered many storms. Together, we stood strong!

“The memories of these five years will forever be cherished, and while my time with you as a player has come to an end, a new chapter as a lifetime member of the family has just begun. I am forever with you. Nzogbu!”
