“I am still that guy” – Oladapo set for return after six months

Austin Oladapo is in line to make his return to football as Enyimba face Shooting Stars in Sunday’s NPFL fixture.

The skipper has been out of action since being slammed with a six months ban following a positive dope test in July 2021.

Having now served the full term of his ban, Oladapo became eligible to play from January 5 and Finidi George has made no hesitation in including the all-round game-changer in his squad for Sunday’s NPFL glamour fixture.

Ahead of his expected return, Oladapo spent time in front of the Enyimba TV cameras, stating clearly his excitement about being back in the contention.

“Being away for six months, I think my coming back I would want to do new things,” Oladapo said.

“I would like people to look at me and say ‘yes, that’s the Austin we know’.

“I have been working very hard for the past six months on and off the pitch and once the coach features me, it will be time for me to show what I have. I am still Austin, I’m still that guy that can shoot from anywhere, so I’m waiting for that first game to start so I can do what I know how to do best.”
