The fight for supremacy in Group A of the CAF Confederation Cup continues this weekend with table toppers Enyimba FC away to bottom side ES Setif of Algeria on matchday four.
Match day three witnessed the first ever clash between both African powerhouses on the continent with Enyimba FC stunning ES Setif 2-1 in Aba, Nigeria. The win took Enyimba FC to top of the table on six points from three matches, while ES Setif remain bottom of the group with a point from three games.
Enyimba’s most recent visit to Algeria ended in a 1-0 loss to Paradou AC at the Stade Mustapha Tchaker in the 2019 group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Good news for Fatai Osho who will relish the return of combative midfielder Anthony Omaka to the matchday squad.
However, the bad news is Nelson Ogbonnaya who limped off and Samad Kadiri who picked up a knock in warm up on match day three joins Sadiq Abubakar, Hassan Abubakar, and Imo Obot on the sidelines. While Farouk Mohammed misses the game through suspension having accumulated three yellows.
The game is billed for 8pm (Nigerian time) on Sunday April 11, at the 8 May 1945 Stadium.
