Ojo expresses satisfaction with Tornadoes draw

Enyimba captain Ojo Olorunleke says he is ‘happy’ the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions got a point from Wednesday’s clash with Niger Tornadoes in Kaduna.

The People’s Elephant bounced back from two demoralizing defeats to Wydad Casablanca of Morocco in the African Football League (AFL) to record an impressive goalless draw against their hosts at the Ahmadu Bello stadium.

However, with three outstanding games due to their participation in the AFL, the 2-time African champions currently sit 19th on the NPFL log.

Speaking after the match, the Super Eagles goalkeeper expressed satisfaction with the result, adding it will boost the confidence and morale of the team going forward.

“It’s a very good feeling,” the former Sunshine Stars and Abia Warriors shotstopper said of how he felt after the draw. “I think it’s very necessary, we really needed it. Thank God for the effort everybody put in, and at the end of the day we were able to, at least, get a point.

“Our target before the match was actually to grab the three points, but we thank God for this one point. At least, it will go a long way in refreshing the team spirit as we continue the push.

“There is hope now that we can still do it despite all the challenges we’ve had.

“So, I’m happy, I’m happy.

Let’s just continue that way.”
