LOSING NOT AN OPTION AGAINST TORNADOES – FINIDI
Head coach Finidi George says ‘losing is not an option’ for his Enyimba side when they go head-to-head against Niger Tornadoes in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on Wednesday.
The reigning NPFL champions sit 18th on the log, with 3 points from 2 matches, though with 3 games in hand due to their participation in the inaugural African Football League (AFL).
Following their elimination from the AFL last week, the People’s Elephant go into the NPFL clash against the Ikon Allah Boys in search of a morale-boosting win.
Speaking ahead of the encounter at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna, the former Ajax and Real Betis star also expressed his side’s readiness, adding that attention will be paid to his defence, even as they search for a win.
“We expect to get a good result here (in Kaduna),” the gaffer, who guided Enyimba to a record 9th league title last season, said.
“We can see the players are ready to go, and losing is not an option here.
“We’ll just see how we can get a good result by defending properly. We’ve been conceding goals – I think cheap goals. We will see how we can defend properly and make sure we do damage on the other side of the field.”
