Enyimba captain and goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo has been included in the Super Eagles 40-man provisional squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) which takes place in Cote d’Ivoire from 13 January to 11 February, 2024.

The list also includes five other goalkeepers, namely; Francis Uzoho (Omonia Nicosia, Cyprus), Adeleye Adebayo (Hapoel Jesrusalem, Israel), former Enyimba shot stopper Stanley Nwabali (Chippa United, South Africa), Amas Obasogie (Bendel Insurance) and Christian Nwoke (Sporting Lagos).

Ojo has been a regular face in the Super Eagles set up, having been invited to the team in the last four international windows.

From the 40-man list, head coach Jose Peseiro will select the final 27 players that will represent Nigeria at the 2023 AFCON.

Three-time champions Nigeria are drawn in Group A alongside hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau.
