Enyimba overcame a pre-match injury worry to earn a valuable point in a goalless draw against Plateau United in Jos on Sunday evening.

Abiodun Adebayo and Somiari Alalibo failed late fitness tests to leave Fatai Osho with just three fit outfield players on the bench, but the People’s Elephant produced a determined performance to earn a valuable point against United.

Making only his second NPFL appearance, goalkeeper Bassa Djeri turned to be an unbeatable member of the Enyimba backline, producing top rate saves to deny the hard-fighting hosts.

The Togolese was on top of his game to deny Abubakar Ibrahim in the early stage before thwarting Isah Ndala’s freekick and Ibrahim Mustapha’s close range effort and Isah in the second half.

Enyimba had chances of their own, Victor Mbaoma failing to make the most of a defence blunder before Tosin Omoyele narrowly missed out on Phillip’s Ozor’s ball.

With four points from two consecutive games on the road, the People’s Elephant have climbed within four points of the summit, although having played one game less.
