KWARA UNITED VS ENYIMBA: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

Overview
Enyimba sit seven points and six log places above Kwara United, their hosts in Sunday’s NPFL week 14 fixture.

With just five rounds of matches to the end of the regular season and only the top three in each group to progress to the Super Six playoff, the People’s Elephant are aware of the significance of Sunday’s fixture in Akure.

Form
After making a shaky start to the second round of the season – managing only two points from the opening three fixtures – Enyimba got back on winning track with a 2-1 victory against Plateau United in Aba last weekend.

Overall, Enyimba have picked only five points from their last five fixtures, dating back to the week 9 game against Bendel Insurance in February (W1 D2 L2). Kwara United, meanwhile, have gone one better, gaining seven points during same period (W2 D1 L2).

Head to Head
The last four meetings of the sides have followed a pattern – Enyimba winning each of their two home fixtures 3-0, while losing 0-1 in their two visits to Ilorin.
Enyimba’s sixteen goals have only been bettered by two teams in group A (Plateau United 23 and Bendel Insurance 17); Kwara United, meanwhile, are the group’s joint lowest scorers with only 7 goals scored so far.

Team News
Recent weeks have witnessed major injury comebacks, with Chijioke Mbaoma and Murphy Ndukwu coming off the doctor’s watchlist to return to action. Midfield stabiliser, Fatai Abdullahi and nimble-footed have also returned to full fitness but Finidi George’s injury headache is not completely over as a long list of names still remain sidelined:
