Mbaoma: it’s time to consolidate

With Enyimba already in Uyo to face Dakkada FC in Sunday’s NPFL fixture, Victor Mbaoma says he is hopeful the People’s Elephant can consolidate on their 2-1 triumph against Remo Stars in midweek, which ended a streak of four matches without a win.

Mbaoma was on target against his former side Remo Stars in the NPFL week 16 fixture in Aba, as Enyimba ended a poor run of two draws and two defeats with an impressive victory against the league’s returnees newcomers.

The 25-year-old ex-Akwa United goal poacher said the win has ‘boosted our confidence,’ adding that the 2-time African champions must now ‘sustain’ the momentum going forward.

“Having returned to winning ways is a good thing for us,” Mbaoma told www.enyimbafc.net. “It has actually boosted our confidence.

“And we just have to sustain it. We have to build on the momentum. We have to keep pushing with this victory we got. We must have the same mindset we used in playing the game which we won.

“So, we’ll keep the spirit, we’ll keep the teamwork, we’ll keep the desire and most especially, we pray for luck and the grace of God to always go with us.”

Following the win against Remo Stars on Wednesday, Enyimba are placed 7th on the NPFL standings, with 24 points from 16 matches.
